Abstract
This study creates an emotional vocabulary model for the animation Coco to guide content creators in crafting emotionally impactful storytelling. Using Russell’s Circumplex Model, Principal Component Analysis (PCA), and Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), this model organizes Coco’s emotional expressions along two axes: “Pleasure-Distress” and “Elevation-Decline.” Findings suggest the model’s value in enhancing audience empathy and engagement through structured, emotion-focused narratives. This research provides a practical tool for content planning, particularly useful in the context of generative AI-based storytelling, where it can serve as foundational data for developing AI-driven emotional vocabulary and storytelling design.
