Abstract
As a smartphone and onboard sensors are growing rapidly, a smartphone shows its potential as a non-invasive physiological measurements. This study investigates the feasibility of extracting breathing rate using a smart phone camera. We recorded video a finger using smartphone camera and the RSA with Biopac RSP 100C simultaneously. We applied sliding peak detection algorithm to calculate respiration rate. The result showed a mean error of 1.1%.
